Or simply walk through the rituals of your daily life to see what's important to you. It's easy to see that traditions, celebrations and rituals, give a sense of place, meaning, value — and fun.

At Sweet Briar, students mark dozens of experiences through our memorable traditions and ceremonies. It's obvious that they're fun. Take, for example, our paint-flinging Hitching Post Fight, playful tap clubs, and tongue-in-cheek Faculty Show.

But our traditions are also full of life and meaning. They're part of our continuing heritage. Sweet Briar students are united by shared experience — a bond that no amount of time or distance can take away. This is why our alumnae come back 10, 25, 50 years after they graduate to sing in the Quad — because Sweet Briar holds a special place in their hearts.
